“The response to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Volunteer Programme reflects the tremendous excitement surrounding this historic tournament,” said Patricia Hespanha Executive Director of Administration for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027.

“Volunteers play a vital role in delivering major sporting events, helping to create welcoming, positive and memorable experiences for everyone involved. It is truly inspiring to see so many people willing to dedicate their time, energy and passion to help organise an event that will leave a lasting legacy for women’s football in Brazil, South America and beyond.”

São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília received the highest number of applications. In total, approximately 6,000 volunteers will be selected to support tournament operations across the eight Host Cities.

Over the next two months, applicants who advance through the initial screening process will be invited to interviews. Successful candidates will then receive offers to provide essential support across more than 20 functional areas, including media, technology, transport, competition management and ceremonies.

There will be more than 30 volunteering roles spanning competition and non-competition venues during the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027, from stadiums and airports to training sites and hotels.

Volunteering at FIFA events More than two million people in the FIFA Volunteer Community are proud to donate their time to help deliver events that unite the world through football. Although volunteering is, by definition, unpaid, FIFA volunteers enjoy once-in-a-lifetime experiences, create lasting memories and become part of the team behind some of the world’s biggest sporting events.

Throughout their journey, volunteers at FIFA tournaments are assisted by experienced personnel and provided with meals during their shifts, a full adidas uniform, transport solutions within the Host City and additional tokens of appreciation in recognition of their invaluable contribution.

In 2014, more than 13,000 volunteers played a vital role in the FIFA World Cup™ across 12 Host Cities in Brazil. Their dedication showcased the country’s warmth and hospitality, earning widespread praise from fans, teams and other stakeholders from around the world.
